Richard Massa is ARA’s Managing Director, Head of Asset Management and Separate Accounts. He leads the firm’s asset management strategy and ensures alignment between commingled fund and separate account investment objectives, working closely with senior leadership, portfolio management, sector leaders, and investment teams.

Mr. Massa serves on ARA’s Investment Committee, Corporate Responsibility Committee, and Business Continuity and Recovery Committee. He previously held several roles at ARA, most recently as Executive Vice President, Asset and Portfolio Management, where he served as sector leader for office asset management and portfolio manager for the firm’s separate account clients. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President, Asset Management, overseeing asset management activities across multiple regions nationally.

Before joining ARA, Mr. Massa was Managing Director and Partner at Caisson Capital Advisors, where he was responsible for sourcing and underwriting investments and providing investment consulting. Earlier in his career, he held senior acquisitions and asset management positions at Principal Asset Management.

Mr. Massa has over 26 years of experience and earned a B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.B.A. from the University of Iowa.
