Don Pecano is a Senior Vice President leading ARA’s Investment Risk Mitigation group, which is responsible for acquisition and disposition due diligence, transaction execution, and enterprise risk oversight across the firm’s investment platform. In addition to transactions, the Investment Risk Mitigation group oversees development and construction risk, insurance strategy, claims and litigation management, ESG and resilience integration, and firmwide risk governance supporting both portfolio and corporate operations.
Prior to joining ARA, Don was a Senior Associate at Keyser Marson Associates, a boutique real estate advisory firm in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for financial modeling, feasibility analysis, and advisory services for a wide range of real estate development, economic development, and public private real estate transactions. Prior to that, he spent a year at Diamond & Associates, a leading affordable housing consultant in Philadelphia, where he assisted clients with securing diverse sources of financing, including low income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, and other local, state, and federal grants and loans. Mr. Pecano officially began his real estate career at Habitat for Humanity NYC, where he managed the punchlist and warranty process for all new homes across the five boroughs of New York City.
Mr. Pecano has over 20 years of real estate experience and earned a B.S.E. from Princeton University and an M.C.P. from the University of Pennsylvania.
