Nate Munson joins ARA to lead investment oversight and sourcing in the West Region.

American Realty Advisors (ARA) announced today that Nate Munson has joined the firm as Senior Director within the Investment Group, based in Los Angeles. In his new role, Mr. Munson will be responsible for the oversight and sourcing of new equity and debt real estate investments in the West Region, as well as the management of ARA’s West Region investment team.

Mr. Munson brings 24 years of real estate investment experience to ARA. Most recently, he served as Director of Asset Management and West Coast Industrial Lead at AEW Capital Management, where he held a series of progressively senior roles, including Director and Vice President of Acquisitions. Over his two-decade tenure at AEW, he led transactions across diverse asset types and played a key role in shaping the firm's investment strategy on the West Coast. He has also held positions at Schnitzer Properties in Acquisitions and at CBRE Global Investors on the Strategic Partners team.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Munson is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, where he teaches Advanced Real Estate Financial Analysis in the university’s renowned real estate program.

Mr. Munson holds a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Todd Hanson and Andy Syang bring deep real estate experience to support ARA’s residential portfolio.

ARA recently expanded its residential asset management team with the additions of Todd Hanson as Executive Vice President and Co-Sector Lead and Andy Syang as Vice President. Both professionals bring extensive experience in for-rent residential real estate operations and will strengthen ARA’s ability to execute portfolio- and asset-level strategy.

Mr. Hanson joins ARA with more than 22 years of experience in real estate, law, and investment management. As Executive Vice President, he serves as co-sector leader for the firm’s for-rent residential portfolio and is responsible for developing and overseeing strategic and tactical asset-level investment decisions. He also collaborates closely with the firm’s portfolio management team on residential acquisition and disposition activities across both core and value-add strategies.

Before joining ARA, Mr. Hanson served as Managing Director at RM Communities, where he led all aspects of the firm’s real estate investment and asset management functions. Prior to that, he held the role of Executive Vice President and Head of Investments at The ConAm Group. He began his career practicing corporate law and later transitioned into investment banking and commercial real estate.

Mr. Hanson holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota School of Law.

In his role as Vice President, Mr. Syang is responsible for managing for-rent residential assets across the United States. He brings nine years of experience in the residential sector, with a background spanning asset management, operations, and financial analysis.

Prior to ARA, Mr. Syang was Assistant Vice President at Cypress Equity Investments, where he managed multifamily properties throughout various stages of the investment lifecycle. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
